Jose Mesa

José studied folklore and popular dances at the Escuela Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba, graduating in 2008. His studies continued in 2009 at the Escuela Narciso Medina with a focus on contemporary dance. As a member of the Conjunto Folklórico Universitario de Cuba, José performed at numerous events throughout Cuba.

He gained further professional experience as a dancer with the Compañía de Danzas Tradicionales de Cuba JJ, with whom he participated in various international events, including the Festival Cultural de Danza Folklórica in Algeria. Over the years, José’s dance career has taken him to teach and perform at festivals in Spain, Italy, France, Tunisia, Sweden, Norway, Ukraine, Latvia, and Estonia.

José teaches a wide range of styles, including salsa, Afro, rumba, salsa con rumba, reggaetón, and reparto. He is an enthusiastic and energetic instructor who strives to share with his students the same joy of dance that it brings to him.
