LESSONS (You don´t need Your own couple to the couple- lessons)
Afro-Cuban percussions
In this lesson you learn Cuban rhythms through different instruments (e.g.. claves, congas, campanas, etc.) You do not need your own instruments, but you can also bring them along. Anyone can participate in the lesson, no previous knowledge of music, or ability to play is required.
Afro Rumba
30 minutes of afro and 30 minutes of rumba.
Bachata
A swinging Dominican dance, often slower in tempo than merengue, important aspects are closeness and feeling. The complex turns do not play the main role. A couple dance, where the connection between the dancers is created through sensuous music and congruent movements. You do not need your own partner to participate.
Couple latino
In the dynamic couple latino lesson several dance forms of Caribbean origin, like salsa, cha cha cha, merengue, bachata and son are danced with a partner. In one lesson we do 2–3 different dances. Come and learn the colourful rhythm of Cuba and Dominican Republic! You do not need your own pair to participate.
Couple salsa (Casino)
Couple salsa is a fun and energetic Cuban dance, where relaxed hips and upper body are combined with a controlled use of body. In this lesson you will dance with a partner, but you don't have to have your own. You will change partners during the lesson, that way everyone gets to dance with a partner. In the lessons you will learn the step patterns of couple salsa, rhythm, use of body, and leading technique.
Dips & Tricks
In this lesson we learn to add showelements and -movemens into couplesalsa and You will learn impressive bendings and liftings that You see in all the greatest shows. This lesson is challenging and You will need to be in good condition besides possessing good knowledge of couplesalsa.
Ladies Style
In this lesson we practice the use of women's hands and body in Cuban salsa, and learn how we can flavour our own dance to become more feminine. Through the exercises we look for continuity in movements and elegant smoothness in the use of the body and hands, and on the other hand, adding more powerful accents to our own dance through body movements. In the lesson we do motion exercises and short choreographies. You do not need to have previous experience in ladies styling lesson when coming to the lesson.
LA-Ladies style
In this lesson we practice the movements of LA salsa, and sensual body control for women. The lesson is suitable for all levels of salsa dancers, because the course starts with the basics of LA salsa, technique, control of hands, upper and lower body, continuing to rotation exercises and feminine shines, were everyone's individual dancing skills are taken into account. The lesson supports excellently those already doing LA salsa, and provides additional flavour and ideas for doing other dances.
LA style couple salsa
The Los Angeles style couple salsa is one of the most popular salsa styles in the world. LA style belongs to the crossbody styles (CBS), which differ from Cuban casino salsa, e.g. in the way of moving on the dance floor: the couple dance in a line and it resembles a show. Dance technique is emphasised in LA salsa. The dance provides a lot of time and space to variate one's own dance, especially for women. The level 1 lesson is meant for everyone who has not danced LA salsa much/at all. In level 2 and 3 lessons we go deeper into the knowledge of movements and patterns.
Latinofitness
Firs half hour we will learn different Latin dances and will practice steps and movements. The second half is pure fitness, we will concentrate on gymnastic exercises.
Latino mix
This lesson introduces you to different Latin dances in the form of short step sequences (e.g. merengue, salsa, cha cha cha, bachata, conga, timba, son). The aim is to do at least 2 – 3 different dances in one lesson, and thus learn several different Latin dances during a season in a fun and easy way.
Kizomba
Kizomba is a sensual African couple dance, which is influenced by semba, zouk, coladeira, tangio, and merengue. The youth in Angola have refined it into an appealing global dance. Kizomba is the hit dance of 2011!
Zouk
Zouk is a sensual couple dance, which is based on the Brazilian lambada. Soft body movements, strong leading by the man, and the flowing hair of the woman create the deepest essence of zouk. In the lesson you will learn the basics of lambada-zouk; rhythm, steps, patterns alone and with the partner. You do not need your own partner to participate.
Reggaeton
The most popular nightclub dance in Latin America at the moment. Reggaeton is a highly versatile solo dance, with influences from different types of dance, e.g. afro dances, hip hop, and the traditional Caribbean and South American dance styles. The fast reggaeton moves let you use your whole body, especially your hips and upper body.
Rueda
Couple salsa in a circle, the instructor leads and the others follow the orders. Partners are changed, and the pace is brisk! Rueda is a highly efficient and fun way to quickly learn the rhythm of salsa, and the different patterns by name. You do not need your own partner to participate. You can join the beginner level rueda as soon as you master the basics of couple salsa.
Rumba
Rumba is generic name for a large group of music and dance styles. The Cuba originated rumba combines the dance and music culture of the African slaves shipped to Cuba and the influence of Spanish colonial masters. Rumba is not just one dance, but more like a combination of different cultures, traditions, and music and art forms.
Salsa
Salsa can also be danced alone (solo salsa) – in this lesson you will not dance with a partner. Salsa lessons are dynamic and choreographic. The patterns vary depending on the instructor, and get more difficult as you move to a higher level. Salsa lessons suit men and women of all ages, and they support well couple dancing.
Salsa is originally a couple dance from Cuba. Salsa movements and patterns are based on the Cuban son from 1920s, which got its rhythm and style from the famous son cubano. Son cubano arose in eastern Cuba, in the province of Oriente in the end of the 19th century. Salsa is indeed a meeting point of African and European dance and music culture. Today, salsa has developed into many different variants, and both Latin American and Western influences are mixed in it.
Salsa is a joyous and enjoyable dance, which suits everyone, and because it is so sporty, it is also a great form of exercise!
Salsa con rumba
Solo lessons where Cuban rumba is danced in addition to salsa. These lessons teach characteristic for rumba body use and steps, including short step sequences which mix the elements of salsa and rumba, rhythm and moves.
Salsatimba
Salsa and timba ("quick salsa") combined, steps and body usage, energetically. Come along!
Shines
Shines concentrates on the LA style footwork. In this lesson you learn body movements typical to the LA style, and different step patterns.
Show reggaeton
In these lessons you do reggaeton choreographies flavoured with show elements. The choreographies consist mostly of reggaeton, but may also contains hip hop and show dance moves. The students are expected to master the basics of reggaeton, and regular participation in the lessons is required. In the lessons, a show choreography is prepared for a show. Prior hip hop or show dance skills are not required.
Show salsa
Challenging choreography lessons! These lessons combine the techniques and patterns of salsa and show dance. At the same time, the knowledge of salsa technique is deepened, and show dance technique is introduced. In the lessons, several choreographies are done. The students should master the basics of salsa well. No show dance experience required.
Timbaton
Lessons combining timba and reggaeton. Timba is a combination of all Cuban dances, both modern and traditional. Dancing using the whole body to fast-paced timba music.
Timing
In a timing lesson you get familiar with Cuban rhythmics through different rhythm and dance exercises. Dancing, clapping, with different rhythm instruments found in the background of Cuban music, you will learn salsa on 1 and salsa on 3, son, mambo, and cha cha cha, finding the rhythm and transitions from one dance to another. The lessons suit dancers of all levels who want to deepen their knowledge about the rhythmics of Cuban dance and music.
Free dance practice sessions
In free dance sessions the joy of dance plays the main role! You get to practice the salsa patterns you already learned, and get tips from your instructor, e.g., for leading and following technique. These lessons suit everyone who has mastered at least the basics of couple salsa. Come and fine-tune your dance patterns, and get boosted for the next salsa party!
